Art has the power to connect us beyond language, culture, and geography. At the heart of my practice is a belief that movement is one of the most profound forms of human expression—a language that invites empathy, curiosity, and transformation.

As an interdisciplinary artist, I create works that weave together movement, film, music, architecture, visual arts, and emerging technologies. Rather than treating these disciplines as separate mediums, I bring them into dialogue, creating immersive experiences that expand how we see, feel, and connect with one another.

My artistic journey began through dance, but it has continually evolved beyond the stage. Each project is an exploration of the relationship between the body and the world we inhabit—where tradition meets innovation, where cultures intersect, and where artistic collaboration becomes a catalyst for new ideas.

As the Founder and Artistic Director of PEIJU Performing Arts (Taiwan), I am committed to creating work that transcends artistic boundaries while fostering meaningful cultural exchange and international collaboration. Through performances, films, educational initiatives, and interdisciplinary projects, I seek to build bridges between artists, audiences, and communities across the globe.

Throughout my career, from performing as a Principal Dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company to developing original creations presented internationally, I have remained guided by one question:

How can movement deepen our understanding of ourselves, of one another, and of the world we share?

This question continues to inspire every collaboration, every creation, and every new artistic journey.

PEIJU is a Taiwanese interdisciplinary artist whose movement-based practice brings together performance, choreography, film, music, visual art, architecture, and technology to create immersive experiences that deepen human connection.

Rooted in the expressive traditions of modern dance while embracing new artistic forms, PEIJU's work explores the body as a site of memory, transformation, and cultural dialogue. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, she creates work that transcends conventional boundaries, inviting audiences to experience movement as a universal language.

A former Principal Dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company, PEIJU performed internationally for nearly a decade and developed a distinctive artistic voice recognized for its emotional depth, physical precision, and expressive power. In 2017, she received The Bessie Award for Outstanding Performer for her interpretation of Ekstasis, Martha Graham's iconic 1933 solo reimagined by Virginie Mécène.

As the Founder and Artistic Director of PEIJU Performing Arts, she leads projects that unite artists across disciplines and cultures. Her work spans theater, dance film, site-specific performance, public art, and immersive experiences, often bringing movement into dialogue with original music, architecture, design, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies.

Her internationally presented creations investigate identity, resilience, transformation, and the evolving relationship between humanity and the world we inhabit. Through each project, PEIJU seeks to create meaningful encounters that foster empathy, curiosity, and connection.

Alongside her artistic practice, PEIJU is dedicated to education and mentorship. She serves on the faculty of The Ailey School, where she continues to inspire the next generation of artists while advancing a vision of movement that extends beyond dance into broader cultural and interdisciplinary conversations.
